Jared Farney is a Canadian drummer and composer, currently residing in Austin, Texas. 

Jared started his journey in music at age 8 when his uncle gave him his first drum set. He started by playing in marching bands and drum corps as well as local rock and jazz bands. 

In 2006 and 2007, he was a member of the world renowned Drum and Bugle Corps, the Santa Clara Vanguard in Santa Clara, California. During which time he became a member of the Vic Firth Education team.

Jared holds a bachelors degree in music from St. Francis Xavier University and a masters degree in Jazz Studies from the University of North Texas, where he studied under jazz legend Ed Soph.

Jared’s compositions have been heard in concert halls and on albums all over Canada and the United States and feature instrument ranges from solo drums to full big band, and from retro 8-bit video game music to full epic orchestra pieces.
